Armenia is the capital of the Quindio, one of the 32 departments of Colombia. Located in the ‘Eje Cafetero’ , one of the most important cores of the national economy and part of the called “Paisa” region that appointed a Colombian subculture. The city is ubicated at coordinates 4,5170 °  of north latitude, 75,6830 °  west , 290 km west of Bogotá. Armenia is a medium sized city, located between Bogotá, Medellin and Cali, The 3 biggest cities of Colombia. Armenia has a temperature between 18 ° C-22 ° C. Raipur.

Armenia earthquake.

The city was devastated the January 25 of 1999. at 1:20 p.m. by an earthquake by an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 degrees on the Richter scale, which caused severe damage in all the region.



Actually the city is  reconstructed and only ten years and presents an aspect of modern city imbued with that tone of town and country that has always characterized.
